Two young adults were arrested Monday in Iron County on suspicion of distributing THC vape cartridges and marijuana to minors, including students at Canyon View High School, according to court documents.
Eowyn Caralee Maquin, 18, and her boyfriend, Bryan Michael Stanley Barr, 19, were taken into custody after narcotics task force agents executed a search warrant at their Cedar City residence. Agents reportedly recovered 74 unopened THC vape cartridges, approximately 60 partially used ones, and about one pound of raw marijuana. A digital scale, packaging materials, and a shotgun were also allegedly found in the bedroom the pair shared.
According to court documents filed in 5th District Court, the investigation began after agents with the Iron-Garfield-Beaver Narcotics Task Force (IGBNTF) received tips that a young Hispanic female was selling THC vape cartridges to high school students. The suspect was later identified as Maquin.

Investigators reviewed text messages in which Maquin allegedly negotiated a sale with a Canyon View High student. The student’s parents reportedly provided agents with vape cartridges they said had been bought from her the week before.
Maquin allegedly told authorities she sold to about 10 to 15 people in Iron County, including roughly 10 minors under the age of 18. She reportedly sold around four THC cartridges per week at $50 each and had recently spent $4,200 on product. She also stated that Barr, who she said lives with her, helped sell both the THC cartridges and raw marijuana to others in the area.
Court documents say the presence of a shotgun in the room with narcotics qualifies Barr as a restricted person under Utah law.
Barr faces three third-degree felonies including two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.

Maquin faces six third-degree felonies including five counts of distribution of a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to distribute, and one count of endangerment of a child or vulnerable adult. She also faces one class A misdemeanor for allegedly manufacturing/delivering drug paraphernalia.
